Ford Racing Performance Parts took a European-spec Focus RS and turned it into a tire-melting rear-wheel drive V8-powered project car to showcase their new modular V8 crate engine, the 5.0L DOHC "Cammer" producing 420 horsepower. The Focus RS8 was introduced at last year's SEMA show.

Same "Cammer" V8 crate engine fed with four 2-barrel Weber carbureters.

I think that was done by Kugel Komponents. They were licensed by Ford to do that. If I'm not mistaken, you can buy the kit from them to do that yourself too. But it isn't cheap. It's like $7-8k, just for the kit. That doesn't include the car, motor, rear diff, or trans. Basically, the kit re-designs the front and rear susp. setup, and the undercarriage, to fit all the good stuff under the hood.

no matter how big of an engine you put in it...no matter how fast you make it....it's still a focus in the end and you wasted your money.

Thank you so much for your ingenious insight with regards to this post. Don't like the car? That's your opinion but do you honestly feel the need to slag this car just due to badging? Seriously, grow up.

Obviously you've missed the power-weight ratio aspect of this. The Focus has pretty good handling for being a "focus". Dropping in a V8 would make it a mad go-cart.

What is with all the stuck up kids these days.

By your logic I wasted my money cause my Impreza has 300hp. Also, no one should waste their money on a Skyline GTR, afterall it is just a Skyline (family car). Oh and the Evo 8 is a waste cause it is just a Lancer ralliart after all...

This coming from a guy with a car that has a truck motor.

Back on topic:

That is a cool car. I do recall hearing about a while ago.
