I have a 1990 civic with si motor and trans. It had a blown head gasket and a lot of oil got lose. My clutch seems to slip a little. I was wondering how i know if i have oil on my clutch...if i do will it burn off or do i have to pull the tranny? Any help is appreciated.

I think it would burn off pretty fast if even any got on there.

Clutch is probably messed.. BHG.. doesnt that mean the cars been bagged?

One thing to remember, the clutch sits underneath the pressure plate, behind the flywheel. The flywheel kind of wraps over the top of the clutch. From the engine side, it's pretty hard to get oil on the clutch.

If you did, it will mess with the friction material, and I don't think it will just burn off.

Tranny seal could be toast. The moment you get any oil on your clutch disk it's pretty much done.

THe main imput shaft seal could be the culprit, whats the age and life on that clutch/tranny thus far?
