hi, i have a copied version of windows xp professional and i need to download the java virtual machine in order to play a lot of games and such on the internet. But i need to download the sp1 patch from microsoft in order to install the java virtual machine. The java virtual machine is part of the patch i think. when i try to install the patch, however, the patch won't install and there is an error message saying my version of windows xp is copied(which it is). is there any way of getting around this?

HA ha ha yes there is...
It involves changing your product ID number. Then your ID isnt flagged when you run SP1 and you can run it with no problem...
I used to have it on my hard drive but I got rid of it...
I will try to find it for you.

Here you are. Run the corporate key changed program. DO EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS. Then run SP1.
I am not liable for anything that happens. Good probably it will work as it has on every thing I have run it on, but dont come crying if it doesnt work.

If you want the JVM you don't need to go through all the hassle for SP1. Just download JRE or JDK from Sun.

Or just get the JVM from Sun:
