Most articles I've read say that the tape is 18 minutes long, but only 7-8 minutes were broadcast by Al-Jazeera.

For some reason I just knew he was going to show his face before the election... To be honest I was thinking Bush had captured him and was just waiting until around now to say they caught him to gain more votes...lol...conspiracy theory at work...

French news agency AFP quotes an unnamed US state department official as saying US diplomats in Qatar had unsuccessfully attempted to prevent al-Jazeera broadcasting the tape.

We fought you because we are free and do not accept injustice," he says.

He adds: "Your security does not lie in the hands of Kerry, Bush, or al-Qaeda. Your security is in your own hands. Each and every state that does not tamper with our security will have automatically assured its own security."

"Oh American people," the video begins, "my talk to you is about the best way to avoid another Manhattan; about the war, its causes and results."

He accuses President Bush of deceiving the American people in the years since the 11 September attacks.

Your security does not lie in the hands of Kerry, Bush or al-Qaeda. Your security is in your own hands

Your security is in your own handswow, thats a pretty passive statment coming from Osama, honestly that confuses the shit out of me. I know a lot of people who talked about it on CNN says he was pretty passive, and that he left his religious stance and took on a more political stance, wtf:dunno:

he doesnt want to have bush or kerry pass him off as s religious wingbat, so he portrays a calm, intelligent concise person. Then again, Al-Jazeera did edit it down, so they could have pulled out all the religious jargon.
