Having a small debate with a coworker regarding what class of car does an Echo belongs to. If you are considering purchasing an ECHO, what other cars (models) would you consider also?

Kia Rio

Smart Car, Aveo, Swift.

There isn't really much in that category.

It is smaller than a subcompact like a Civic or a Corolla.

Would it be an Ultra compact?

Suzuki swift, Pontiac Firefly:dunno:

the hatch is nowhere close to as lame as the sedan. the sedan would be on hte same lame level as fireflies and geos

Echo hatch loaded up + tax could reach $20K. I can think of a better way to spend $20K on a car.

Sub compact class:

Hyundai Accent/Accent 5
Kia Rio/Rio RX-V
Honda Jazz (next year)
Suzuki Swift/Chevy Aveo/Pontiac Wave (same Daewoo car)
Smart forTwo

and although really out of the above price range.

BMW Mini.

I believe it's the opposite. You only come off as lame only if you're not man enough to drive one.

Where did you hear about the jazz coming to Canada? Is it just the SiR without the oomph and ricer seats?

ya but the $20K your talking about on an echo isn't quite right...becuase most people that buy a car like the echo just want a cheap car...if u load it up that totally defeats the puropse of buying a cheap car.

I've known many people bought $20K Echo just because it looks cool to them.

No official word but Jazz was on Canadian roads not long ago for testing.

What Jazz looks like:

Spoon Fit (Jazz):

Autoweek reports a small Honda is coming:

Jazz with Ontraio plates:

All sign points to a gas saving sub Civic class/Echo fighter. This will probably also allow Civic to grow a bit.

Yeah .. JAZZ is the best competition to ECHO ..

their sales are neck to neck in Asian market ...

Mit Colt and Nissan Micra as well .. not sure if they will come to Canada .. :)

Micra - may be but we probably will get March/Cube instead.

Colt, probably not. I don't think Mitsu can afford to launch new vehicles let alone low margin ones.

Those little cars are cool! I just wouldn't want to get smoked by a truck in them, I don't think I would make it!:dunno:

i would definitely rock a 2 door echo hatch. Any other echo is just :thumbsdow. Also in that category: Pontiac Wave, and used Cavaliers. Everything else has been mentioned.
