Hey, the other day i was driving home and there was this black car in front of me, i didnt think much of it until we came to a light. I noticed the driver was on the right hand side. I immediatly thought it was a skyline because it looked like it. When i brought this up with my friends, one of them told me it wasnt a skyline (and that i was an idiot) but it was a 180sx. Its like a 240sx but with japenese specs and its some sort of conversion. Any one know about these 180 sx's? Or what this car might be. There were no emblems on the car and he turned right away so i couldnt get a better look.

180SX is 240SX body style. But has a turbo charged CA18DET engine, later changed to SR20DET in 1991. North America gets the KA24E/KA24DE engine.

It's also pretty hard to mistake a Silvia for a Skyline..... Skyline has 4 round tail lights, and overall have a boxier form. While Silvia tallights are straight across lights, hatchback style, and just overall rounder.

Type-X was'nt available until the kouki model 180SX's I think 96+.
The car you saw had to be an '89 180SX and it wasn't a conversion, it's straight off a boat fresh from japanese soil.

***edit***
sorry skyline addict didn't see you location was "tokyo" so yea, you'd probobly be seeing ALOT MORE Type-X's than us here in cown town:D :burnout:

Yeah, I was at the sunridge theatre on thursday and parked right near the door was a black (or dark) silvia. We were walking by and my girlfriend mentioned to me "Hey! That car has the steering wheel on the wrong side!" So I looked over and sure enough.. nice silvia! Too bad I didn't have a camera with me.

at night it would be hard to tell the difference. the 180SX taillights light up as four circles, too, resembling very closely Skyline R32 or R33 tails, but not so much the R34 tails (which are different sized, one pair of lights is bigger then the other).

Thanks for telling me????? :dunno: I know my Nissans very well, so I don't need an import basher telling me what I already know. If you're refering to the Type-X 180SX, they came into production in 1996, so I doubt the Silvia he spotted was of that year.

Besides, he never mentioned he saw it at night or anything, so I assume he spotted it during the day.

I'm not an import basher. you might notice I drive a car that is kind of an import (its not a domestic, either, its more just a bastard). I bash people who advertise parts their cars don't have from companies with more prestigous names... I bash ricers and people with show cars that look fast but are stock under the hood. But I've never bashed a Civic with a turbo kit or a Prelude with any work done to it at all. I have never ever bashed Nissan of any kind, especially seeing as how I want to get a 180SX some time during the summer. Nissan kicks ass.
so stop jumping to conclusions.

Shit every where you go on this forum there are people jumping to conclusions about other people or bashing eachother, common cant we all get along like good little boy's and girls.

But at least you gave good descriptions of the cars in your argument.

If you were talking about me seeing it in the night or day, I saw it in the day but if you were refering to iblizzard then i am pretty sure he said he saw it at night after the movies before he went home and *boinked* his girlfriend
