Question about PS2?

Iknow it plays DVDs but does anyone know the media formats it plays? Does it play like .MPEG and .AVI?

its plays DVD movies. an avi on a dvd disc isnt a dvd movie exactly, so no, it wont play avi and mpeg, it will play retail DVDs

I believe that the new PSTwo can now played DVD movies burned on a DVD+/-. I know the regular PS2's can't play anything burned.

My PS2 says (on the box) that is will play DVD-R, and some DVD+R, but every +R I've tried doesn't work. But the -R's work just fine. It's not one of the new ones, so some of the older ones are able to play them.

if you get a modchip it can play almost anything

the origional ps2's will play some burnt dvd-r's, but for some reason a few of, ahem, a "friend's burnt discs" won't work

Weird, cause I've tried like pratically every DVD format and it just refuses to work on my PS2.

Well i can play burnt ones on my new ps2.

he wasnt asking about burned dvds, hes asking about other formats like mpg and avi, mod chip or not, it is still not going to play an avi, suck as a divx
