This is what I used to find my jobs:

www.careerclick.com
www.workopolis.com
www.monster.ca

Then when that's exhausted. Go thru and think of all the big oil and gas corps and hit their websites. Most of their head offices are located in Cowtown. Even some of the US giants have offices here.

thanks guys.

calgaryjobshop's the only one I haven't been to. Got two opportunities there. .

What I ended up doing was writing down names of every company I see in the newspaper...too bad I need experience.

Oh well...time to become a night janitor or something hehe

The major companies usually do their on-campus recruiting around the end of September to Mid-October.
Did you apply then?

There's a job board at the U of Calgary Management website (I CANNOT give you my password though), you might want to TRY asking them kindly if you can get access into it.

Then there's the good old networking among peers who already have jobs and then..........the dreaded cold-calling.

Call up an oil company, ask for Mr/Ms. XXX, introduce yourself, request to have coffee with them sometime to 'talk about the industry' , give them the impression you are very interested in their company and that you would like to work for them if an opportunity becomes available.

That's one of those 'tapping into the hidden job market' techniques.
90% of all jobs are unadvertised or something like that. :dunno:

B.Comm in Accounting with crappy marks? Accountemps...that's what I did when I moved here...don't expect much more than mindless A/P work though for 14 bucks an hour....I temped at this one company, a house building one where they wanted me to become the permanent A/P person who got paid liek10-11 bucks an hour HAHA...I would've been better off conituing to be the temp guy.....good foot in the door though, these days you actually need EXPERIENCE to get hired....I'd reccomend CRA but we stopped hiring months ago!!...wait for the next boom I guess. Good luck!

I'm pretty sure Si_FlyGuy does not have to worry about working AP or temp jobs. He had no issues finding a job last I talked to him which was over 4 years ago.
