watching the news and they said that a bunch of these boxes are being stolen by punk ass kids. there cant be very much money in those things in the first place...

When my family owned an establisment back in 1999 I was working the front counter. And these two older men about 30-40 years of age came in and ordered 2 coffees. So I turned around to make the coffees. Right by the till was the poppy box and there was only a few poppies left but it was just filled with money. I was turned around no more than a few seconds when I heard them run out. I was so pissed that the jerks would do that. We got them on the security video but never did catch them.

yea i read about that in the paper and on citybeat, the 2 kids were 13 and 14 and attacked two different groups of kids.

living in calgary, a growing city, theres a certain amount of crime that you can expect..car theft, graffiti etc. but seriously what kind of piece of shit do you have to be to steal from war veterans and little kids? people that fought for their freedom and are having difficulty surviving with todays pension plans. i hope that whoever is doing this gets whats coming to them... :whipped:

I work in Southcentre and mall security came around on Friday saying that two teenage guys were stealing the poppy money. I guess they made off with at least 4 boxes! Lucky for our box we didn't get hit and we hardly have any donations anyways!

I was disturbed to read this as well. My Grandfather fought in WW2...its a rare thing for people his age to still be alive...I mean...go ahead spit in his face you little pukes. The Veterans wont be around much longer...people need to realize that...but I guess its that whole new "dont give a fuck" upbringing that kids are following. I bet I have spent over $50 bux randomly at poppy boxes this year... thats the least I can do for the people that fought for my freedom.
