Comedian/auto enthusiast Jay Leno and General Motors Vice Chairman Bob Lutz stand next to Leno's latest restoration, a 1,070-horsepower twinturbocharged 425 CID powered 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado at a reception in Las Vegas Monday, November 1, 2004, in association with the 2004 Specialty Equipment Market Association trade show. The Toronado's extreme horsepower is supplied by a concept engine.

This car is featuring the LS7 intake manifold that GM is going to use on the next Z06.

word up. unfortunately, this is not the craziest toranado ever. that would be the one with two blown chevys that was all wheel drive with slicks at all four corners.

This Leno ride is sick, but has anyone read this month's Car&Driver? It has Leno's rod with a 810-hp and 1560+ft-lb tank engine? it's insane!

Leno drives all of his cars... ive seen interviews with him on My Classic Car and American Chopper (and others).

He honestly has a love for cars (and bikes) and cant stand seeing cars that are collected and never driven.

I remember reading somewhere as well that he drives all his cars because won of his favourite stories is how he gets his steam powered cars past 100mph and gets pulled over and the cops general reaction is "this car can go this fast?"

hah.

:bigpimp: rides leno has. Wish I had his garage :D

It was reported that when Jay bought that turbine-powered motorcycle, he called the company that makes them and said, "Hi, this is Jay Leno, I'm a member of the more money than brains club and I want one of those bikes."

Jay's an artist...who else would make an old Toronado look like it just came off the showroom floor, but perform like a new monster 'vette?

actually it was the first car to have a V8 front wheel drive car

no one ever tried it because the said the axel shafts or somthing a front wheel drive tranny would never handle the power and snap. but GM proved everyone wrong
