i am running a jl 12w0 behind the seat in my truck and it is going off od a bridged phoenix gold 90x2. this amp is wired with canadian tire wire. 12 gauge. if i upgraded this to 8 gauge would i notice a difference or is it even worth it.

depends on the amp. With a powerful amp, you will notice a bit of a difference. It is worth it. Kinda a pain in the ass, but any sub setup in a stereo should be done with at least 10 gauge wire. 8 will be great for you. The difference will prob. be when you have it loud. Even if you dont notice a difference, your system will run better. Its still your choice, and its too bad you didnt use 10 or 8 in the first place, but i would do it.

You should NEVER run an amp with less than 8awg. Upgrading your power wire WILL make a difference.
Think about this....try sucking a milkshake out of a swivel stick...lots of work right? now us a slurpee straw a whole lot easier. same applies to current in a car audio system the bigger power wire the better.

Oh shit, you were talking about power/ground?? I thought you meant speaker wire! Hahaha!
