1998 Caravan diagnostic check

My CEL is on on my 1998 Grand Caravan. Before I go and spent money at the dealer, can anyone tell me if there is a self diagnostic check on the car and if so what is the procedure . Also where can I find a description of the codes. Thanks.

Put a paperclip in two of the pins in the ALDC!

you might have to find a Caravan specific site to find out what pins you need to connect.

To get the codes you start with the ignition off.
Within 5 seconds turn the key (on, off,on,off,on) leave it on and it will flash a series of 2 digit codes.
This site will give you the instructions and the list of codes.
