Lately my steering wheel has been shaking when I am between 60-90 km/h... I own a 92 prelude.. Just trying to find out the possible (most likely) reasons this would happen. Before I go to a mechanic and have him possibly screw me over...

I was thinking alignment.. finboy told me it could also be tie-rod ends... any other idea's... I know the ball joints were done before I bought it, so I would *assume* the the tie rod ends would have been checked at the same time. :dunno:

Any suggestions???

You guys really think thats all it is?? it has shaken violently twice.. in a 3 week period, driving pretty much everyday...

Dunno what that is from... but I'm still gonna get it checked this weekend... just want as many idea's as to what it could be...

Could be a tie rod end or bent wheel

...but it's mostly likely that one of your wheels threw a weight.

Look for the missing weight's marks on the wheel and get that wheel balanced.

Snow or mud on the inside of the rim will cause that.

Re-torque your lug nuts or have a shop do it. They always tell me to re-torque my lugs after 100 km if the wheels have been off the car.

start simple and work to hard. It saves time & money.

I found that one of the weights is missing on and I did use some tire sealant a couple weeks ago, so I'm not sure if that could cause the wheels to get out of balance.. But I am taking in tomorrow to get winter tires put on, so I will post again to see if that fixed the problem...
