I like that color :) Way better looking than that stupid orangey-gold color the ads and that show (not to mention the show car).

I got the spec sheet from Nissan. You're looking at paying about $48,000 for this beauty! If I had a scanner, I would scan the sheets and post it... you can check the options out.

?????

That's CDN MRSP for a loaded 350Z??

Dunno about you but if I had $48k cash I wouldn't be buying a Nissan.

I really hope that its $48k for a fully fitted out track model and not the base. If that is the base price then the 350Z is not long for this world. Nissan, learn your damn lesson already!

Wow, that looks good. They de-bastardized it.

I love it!!

I got my dad to look at he... he's very interested....

He used to own a mint condition 1984 300ZX Turbo

He loved that thing to bits, and once the turbo kicked in... it hauled ass!!

"... we can be heros"

I like this car!! :hitit: :hitit: :hitit: :hitit:

What would you buy with 50k?

S2000 :). I think they are much nicer looking, performance numbers are close too. Plus convertable is always nice. You could get a slightly used vette for 50k, you could get a very nice BMW for that price, there are so many high end cars you could pick up that are much better than a Nissan. 300ZX's were always overpriced, hence their demise in an otherwise very nice sports car, and I think the 350Z is going the exact same way.

The new Z coupe will be offered in three trim levels, a Performance model ($44,900), a Touring model ($44,900) and Track Pack model ($46,500).

The MSRP's are much less than any competition but I'll shut up until I see some sales figures.

Is it just me or does the 350Z from that angle look a lot like the 996?

Damn, I was just about to post that and then I saw yours Rage...It totally looks like a 996 body design...alot of cars are looking like others...not to many designs left that are still within radical limits of our current era...

What are you guys expecting from a car like that. 25000$ This is not a fucking Civic man, have you ever look at 300ZX??? This is not a regular car, the suspension is almost design like a race car. They don't want to produce a car that everyone can afford!

The problem is that the S2000 is a bit too boy racerish for a lot of old guys who don't want to rev to 9000rpm every 2 seconds.

The reason the 300zx went out of production was because of its cost and poor sales - and now they come out with an even more expensive model? If you really like it, go ahead and pay the 50,000+ price tag (I imagine after all options etc). I don't think too many people will.

Jeff: True that.

This car is right in the market for a japanese highend roadster.
What else do we have in this price range, mostly imports. There cheaper than the BMW, Benz, even a viper. You guys are bitching and complaining about the price, and guess what, Nissan isn't building this car for you... Get a life.....

I'm actually quite curious how well the upscale japanese sports cars will do. Remember, all the design and marketing was planned during the dot com boom, when 20 year olds were dot com millionaires. Now that the economy has gone under, there's a lot of unemployed folks who these cars were targetted at (right bol?)

they're not targetted at me because i have a bank account balance of $18.75

public transit is targetted towards me!

Dude, just because the 300ZX went out out of producation does not mean this new coupe will follow the same dead path.

Just wait and see.

A loaded '96 300ZX TT went for $58,900 if I remember right, the very last time it was at the auto show.

I think the new 350Z will do very well. It's far more advanced than the old model.

Shelton or anyone... when's this economic BOOM gonna happen again?? How will you be able to tell? What will be different about this "new" BOOM then the "old" BOOM!?

Thanks everyone!! :D :D

If I remember from the spec sheet (can't find it anymore), the models are very close, ie. very few options.
The difference with the track model is NO LEATHER, bigger wheels (18's I believe), and cross-drilled brakes.
My only gripe is the huge pricetag for what it has. It only comes with like 250hp (granted it's alot lighter than the older model). There is no turbo option. That said, I still think it'll sell pretty good the first coupla years until the novelty wears off.

And for ~$50,000, I probably wouldn't be considering one; nor would I consider a S2000. I'd probably go with a used Porsche Boxter. It's more bling (read: chicks) for the buck. Performance isn't bad either.

i'm willing to bet $5 with the price tag of $50+k, the 350Z will follow same path as the 300ZX. any takers? :bigpimp: rumors are flying around that the mitsu evo and subaru sti are right around the corner.

Heard those rumours about the STi and EVo VII as well... however, those same rumours price those cars in the $55-60,000 range!!! Yikes!

Are you willing to spend that kind of coin on a Mitsu or Subaru?
(yeah, they are fast as hell, but...)

don't know if i'm willing to put down $55k-$60k on a car. but if i did have the money i would rather put it down on a evo or sti cause turbo and awd from factory. plenty of aftermarket support.

To be honest i'm not that much into the "boy racer" cars anymore. i would be more than happy to settle with a nice bmw coupe/roadster or something.

The day I saw a boxter as a rental car at a nation wide rental car outlet was the day I lost all respect for them plus they're slow as hell

And if you want to talk about bling, there's the G35 Coupe with a similar price tag, which offers less performance, but more luxury.

I also don't see how you could bring the Boxster into comparison. It's in a totally different category than the 350Z. But if you insist on comparing them, then the 350Z would whoop the Porsche in every way. I don't need a car to help me get chicks either.

Come out to a solo 2 and say that. When you see a boxster S beat a Z06 corvette your tune will change pretty fast again :D
