edit: ohh ya, i forgot about my trip to calgary in my dads buick. The car isnt fast off the line, but it doenst stop pulling. We were going about 205km/h for about 25 mins.

Mine's a first gen (93) I think certain ones 93-94 sold for the canadian market didn't come with speed limiters. Anytime you want we can go for a spin and I'll show you. Unless the different tire size screwed up the speedo... 215/45R17s vs stock 205/60R15 :dunno:

I never really got it up to speed, but when i was driving my pa's 87 porsche turbo, i had it up to 165 km/h, really quickly. But i was with my dad and it was on a pretty crowded hi-way. That was in 3rd gear, though its only a 4speed. Im not sure of the max, but id love to find out. I love the pull on that car. There is slugish power until 3500 rpm (quite a bit of lag) but when the turbo kicks in, its liek nothing else. your thrown into the leather porsche sport seats and you cant move. but its like nothing (2000), nothing (3000), nothin (3500), then BOOM. It hits hard, and i love it. 300 hp, ohh ya.

Nope... speedos are usually off by 10% at the high speeds....
but you can read the speed directly from the computer... if you have an OBD-2 scanner...

we did 110 mph (maxed out setting) on the way to niagra falls in a small pontiac sedan.. wit 5 ppl in it.. 6 in the morning high way was emppptyy.. my ears got plugged.. dono from speed or smth

Speedo topped out at 160 km/h and it kept pulling a bit longer. I guesstimate about 170.
This was on the road to Cochrane in the middle of the night, before I had my license.

On the smoothest roads in Saskatchewan (single lane), I have got to 255Km/h. It was kind of a thrill but a little to bumpy for the Stealth. Fastest I have ever had my bike was 260Km/h. Again on single lane Saskatchewan roads. Mind those pot holes!

I've gotten my car to 210 and the governor kicked in. I was bouncing off it for a good 4 minutes too.

I had my 96 GS-R up to 220 and it just wouldn't go any faster. I was literally standing on it for 10 minutes and it wouldn't go any faster.

Both were very stable and could handle faster speeds....

I took my lude before the engine went, up to 185ish, before I slowed down, cause I was coming up to intersections and such.

The car felt so solid and had tons more to go.

Once spring rolls around and my engines been worked in properly, I will take it up into the 2 huns... See what I max out at. Im sure ill pin the needle.

Don't know my fastest my speedo only goes up to 240kmph/150mph and it was well buried. Did that many times between Calgary and Vancouver. And once on the way to Edmonton.
On the way to Edmonton I did it in -30 at night. I was passing cars like they were going in reverse. We decided to slow down after passing about 20 cars in the left lane. Becasue if they changed into our lane we would be done. I don't think I will do that again

Fastest was with my bro was 235 with A/C on (I quesetion the accuracy of the speedometer). Fastest by myself is ~160 cuz I get scared pretty easily. Fastest on a bike is around 120, kinda scared of going faster cuz most drivers don't see me coming and I don't wanna die yet...

According to Car and Driver my car's top speed is 192.45km/h.

I however have gone only 155km/h on the highway.

As a passenger in a 300ZX (dont even ask me specs, that car was nuts) I went anywhere from 260-265km/h. That was too fast, espiecally for night time. My goal is to hit 300km/h one day, only during the day and when conditions are fair. Obviously in another car..

My speedo goes to 260 km/h... And yes I have buried it a couple of times...
I was in a ferarri once, I think it was testarosa(SP?) when I was about 17 or so, as a passenger, I got to scared to look at much else, but I was told we were travelling at about 180 mph or so. It was an insane ride and I have never been faster since, there would be a car miles ahead and in seconds we were up to the car and passing it, I am sure some cars we passed never even saw us even cars going the same direction.
at about 225, all the road lines turn solid reguardless if they are actually dotted or not, at 250, the air noise is pretty intense, get in the 270-280 range, and you have to start driving 300-400 feet ahead of where you normally look at the road, and a little bit of steering wheel goes along way..Maxt

Ive had my FieroGT upto ~225-230km/hr. Im doubting how accurate the speedo is tho. At that speed, it was quite stable, but it vibrated a lil. I still had quite a bit left on the tach too..a good 1.5-2k revs left. I decided to stop cuz leduc was approaching mighty quick :)

Doin some math(4900rpm in 5th) i went 153MPH(245kph). Scary. Keep in mind factory speedos will be way out at those speeds. It would be more accurate to get your tire diameter, 5th gear ratio, diff ratio and engine RPM to calcuate your speed. Careful guys/gals!

275kph or about 172 mph indicated on the speedo, but it was probably closer to 260kph or 160 mph, because speedos in most cars are notoriously inaccurate at these speeds.

Many sports cars are governed at 155 mph or 165 mph, but again, they allow a significant margin of error.

If you want accurate, it's better to read your tach, and calculate your speed from there, knowing your ratios and tire size.

Needless to say, at that speed you run out of road too fast to really get a solid reading.
