That is more than I want to spend. the only newer phone I would be looking at is a moto V220. A phone with camera's and all kinds of funtions is not nesssesary.....an older phone will do the job too. like a Moto v60 or something like that...for traveling..nothing fancy or Bling. just has to be quad or tri band gsm

I have a v300 upgraded to a v600. It is quad band since it was upgraded. I will let it go for 200 shipped. It is however locked to Rogers.

Even if you upgraded the software to the V600 software doesn't mean the phone is now quad band. The software will show 4 bands but there are still only 3 supported by the phone. Hardware would have to be changed to add the fourth band.

Really? I was pretty sure I read something on howardforums that the hardware is actually the same, it's just not supported by the V300 firmware.

I did look into this, and apparently it is quad band when you upgrade the software. All other V300s except Rogers have 900/1600/1900. When you get the Rogers phone I believe it has 850-900/1900. So basically, the Rogers firmware/flex gives you 850 instead of 1600 and why would Motorola make a completely different V300 just for Rogers when they could just edit something in the software to save them $$$.
