So i've been shopping around at some shops so i can get a fibreglass trunk enclosure in my crx. I've been to future shop and they quoted me 600 bux for just the box+80 for mounting of amp. I went to A&B sound and they quoted me $2000 for everything. Then I went to Soundsurround and they quoted me $450 for everything also.

SO why is there such a huge margin of price differences? Do you really get what you pay for? Or are they just being very competitive with pricing?

Money is not such a huge issue here but if Soundsurround did just a good of install as A&B sound does, it's obvious that I would go to soundsurround. Anything thoughts/opinions?

Soundsaround & A&B both suck. The best install done on any of my vehicles was done by myself.

Sub and Amp are fiberglassed into the back panels in the trunk. THere is NO vibration at all.

I concur, then spent an entire afternoon on the car, it was great :D Took their time in the details which most shops cheap out at.

Thanks guys. I guess what my real question was, what type of price range is a good price for a clean install that sounds good?

I mean, i just dunno what the market for installs are. Just like buying a new home in douglasdale. I'll look at it but i'll have no idea how much it costs, and when I do find out, I have no idea if that's a good price or not.

It's hard to say because it depends on how complex it's going to be. if you just get a plain box it'll be cheaper than if you get something that's custom.

everything is always how much you are willing to spend and how nice you want it. I sell fiberglass kick pods that range from 350 all the way up to $1300 and I can tell you every 100 more what will be involved ie vinyl wrapping them and laser aiming them.
