my friend's has 400 horsepower and maybe 300-ish torque, turbocharged KLDE. if you do the swap the KLZE or KLDE motors from a MX-6 or Probe, they are a very fast car, and since that motor is available domestically it is a relatively cheap swap.

i've looked at precidias many times but what has kept me from buying one is that they arent the quickest. But bumpin talon said that it would be cheep to get an engine swap because its domestic. Roughly how much would you said (for the engine and then installation.) If you could give me something to compare it tothat would help. Thanks

it all depends on how much you find the motor for. probes aren't rare, you could probably get the motor for ~$1,500 and putting it in yourself would be relatively easy since precidias have a good forum at www.mx-3.com and you can ask for advice there.

the v6 model is pretty quick, and has an awsome exhaust note stock at higher rpm:thumbsup:

care to tell me who that is? the fastest mx3 in calgary was a BP-T which was pushing est. 350hp, and one turbo KLDE is dynoed at 298hp. any prove that he's pushing 400 hp? he must have something really impressive on that KLDE.

btw:
KLDE is rated at 160hp stock comming from the USDM probe/mx-6
KLZE is rated at 200hp ONLY comes in JDM cars, from mx-6 to ms-8

you can probably find a KLDE for less than a 1000 if you know where to find them.

www.mx-3.com will have all the info you need, but SEARCH before you post, this topic has been discussed 20950324094309573 times

sean's car.. not to toot his horn for him or anything. he said his car is around 400hp at the flywheel, 300 or so torque. I am pretty sure the guy who built it said it was around 300 wheel horsepower, but I wouldn't know for certain, its not my car.
it's a T3/T04E (I think), 8-injector setup, some kind of engine management setup, I'm not sure if it is a piggyback or stand-alone but it offers a lot of control. Ground Control coilovers, adjustable shocks, and no weight reduction aside from a carbon hood. sean got it to run a 13 flat, at more then 120 miles per hour, on 18" rims with Nitto drag radials and a full system in the back, computer, four subs, extra battery, and everything, at Race City. the radials are only 205 width too, he could probably get wider ones on those rims.
it's a very fast car. my uncle ran low-12s at the same mph sean does in the quarter so my guess would be the car is capable of a lot more, he could probably be one of the fastest FWDs in Alberta if he cared :D

he only ran once at Secret Street and did high-13s if I remember because he couldn't launch his car that well yet. the 13.0 was when the track was closed and there is no timeslip for it. knowing the track v.p.'s son is a huge bonus :)
i guess you'll have to wait until may or june for a time.

To sum this up real quick, ran a 13.3 when track was closed, talonted on this forums' father is the vp of that track he'll vouch. When you saw me run 15's when i first got the car, i didn't know how to handle the power. And to answer the real question at hand here. They are not a very quick car at all even the v6 but neither is a 240 or a civic. The mx3 seems to be a lot cheaper to modify you can find a klze (200hp) for 900 bucks and install it for cheap if you no someone, which will destroy most cars. But thats the end of it the cheap power is only in the engine swaps most work after that has to be custom and very expensive. Who the hell has dynoed 350hp in an mx3? let alone in calgary?
