Used BMW 330i or 330Ci.

the 300C would be cool. I bet any money there is going to be a huge aftermarket support for that engine in a year or two, and it is a huge motor in the first place so could make tons of power if you ever wanted to go faster.
handling wise, it's probably not as good. and I don't think you could even get the Hemi for under $35,000 unless you wanted to finance it, and it is a domestic so you could probably get good terms...
otherwise, I liked the Saturn Ion Redline but maybe you shuld hold out for the Cobalt SS Supercharged since it will be faster and looks nicer and will hopefully fix the things the Saturn has wrong with it, and it should go for under $30,000...
you might want a Lexus IS300. They are around $30k used. S2000, nice deal too, but it's not a very viable year-round or even summer-long driver.

I would recommend you don't buy a new car. Worst investment you could make, because you would lose around $5,000 as soon as you drive the car off the lot and all you have to show for your $5000 is a break-in time (so you can't drive your car hard even though you really want to) and maybe 15,000km less then the other guy who saved a bunch of money and just bought the same car used.

Exactly what I had in mind. There are a few first runs going for that price.

Used BMW would gain you 2 rear seats. But it would be older in years.

330 Coupe or Sedan but must be manual!

BMW is offering very low interest rates (4%) and you get the extended warranty with the Certified Series. And then join the club!

i would say a 2000 or newer WS6 Trans AM... i got a 2002 WS6 with a few simple upgrades and im at 400 RWHP... and it still has class (in my opinion).

If you want the best overall, with sporty, luxury, comfort, handling, brand image, get a 2001 330i

If you want the luxury, comfort, brand image, and do not care about handling, can get a 2002 C320/A4 3.0

or .. get a 2004 TL .. (probaby a bit over $35k or $35K plus tax)

For sports car, a 2003 350Z .. or 2001/2002 S2000 or a 2000 Z3 etc, if u want roadster ...

If you don't mind to get a little bit older car, then more choice !

If for me ? if I have $35K to spend on a nice car, I will get a late 80's Porsche 911 ! :D
