Unfortunately, CIBC banks in my area are closed so I can't hit up a branch to find this out, so maybe someone here knows...
I have a CIBC Visa card, but not CIBC bank account. Is it possible to have a money order made up, but charged to my credit card?

Im pretty sure it will clasify as a cash advance and you'll have to start paying interest right away on it.

Yeah it probably will. They are usually about 1/2 the rate you would normally be charged.
You should check out a Visa venture line of credit card if you are going to be continually doing cash advances. If not, usually you do pay interest right away.

Yeah but to purchase a money order you do so with cash. When you use cash on your Visa you are charged interest immediatly.

Give CIBC Credit Card Services a call at 1-800-465-4653. They'll be able to tell you for sure, but I tend to agree that it will be treated the same as a cash advance, plus the usual fee for a money order.
