probably something with a/c if you live in vegas. I dunnoo get something reliable first and fast second. Get the most reliable car for your price range. A civic's alwas a good starter car

Alot depends on if you're a good wrench or not, if you're fairly capable u can get somethin nicer but with a little work needed, then somethin off the lot reliable, but not necessarily what u really want

it depends wuts on the top of ur priority list, reliability?performance?economy?luxury features? and it also depends on ur spending range...let us kno all this stuff and we could probly help u out better.

otherwise a civic is a good starter car, but i'd persoanlly go with an integra/celica for that type of car.

Go for something a bit older so you can actually learn how to work on it without having to have access to a $30,000 computer. If your 16 chances are you're not gonna have the cash to spend on a mechanic all the time so learn up real quick cause there's only one sure thing with cars... shit breaks. I've saved a lot of cash twisting my own wrench.

my first car was the one i am still driving. i liked it as a first car because it was fairly to easy to learn to fix, easy to get parts for, and fairly common. it was also wicked to learn to drive standard with as it has a fair bit of tourque.

now that i have learned more about cars i am ready to upgrade, but being a student in the very near future i have no need to and am happy enough with what i have.

pretty much just pick whatever your heart desires, and N/O for $5000 or less (like mine) your car will be slow and a POS, so dont get bitten by the spending bug like lots of people do. only spend money when necessary, save the money for when your older and it will be more useful.

  . i looked for one of those for sooo long, then bought a 90 240sx!! i think honda is the best bet for reliability. but a 240 aint bad either.(not that anyone will care but i got 295k on my motor and it has had no problems yet and doesnt puff blue yet so im keeping my fingers crossed for that!)

Hey everybody, this is my first post. I just got my first car, a 1996 Honda Civic CX, 2 weeks ago. Its not very fast or pretty right now but its darn reliable and has a lot of potential. I'd definitely recommend it palladinx if you're looking for a good first car. (No a/c in the cx tho, gotta get the dx for that!)

Seeing how its your first car, this can be the first time you can use the 'search' feature on the site. This has been brought up billions of times before. :)
