Tasty Tomatoe was really good when I lived there. I don't know if it's still around but it is family owned/operated and grandma makes some pretty amazing tortellini.

Theres that one Italian place by Heritage, 23Ave & 116St? It was called Sicilian Kitchen or something, can't remember the name quite well. Was treated to there about a year ago, and it was packed when we were there.

Da Michealangelo < not the spelling i know >

Its on 7th st and 12th ave sw. just east of the safeway downtown, and left around the corner at the lights east of the safeway. Small place, ask for upstairs. Its a house converted to a restaurant. The owner is really nice, and makes all the food from scratch himself. The Calamari is amazing. Its done in a white wine / garlic / butter sauce, not deep fried like many places. Just done perfect. The veal canaloni is real nice, well anything he makes is great.

Check it out, some nights he has cheap pasta night for like 6.95 i think for your choice on the back menu.

Check it out. Its a good place.

Popular among the edmonton "celebrities" - like the Comrie family and such (Or at least I've seen them there a couple times).

I went to Ginos Italian Kitchen on Calgary Trail.

Not very romantic. But the food is damn good.
And its not very expensive. (2 meals, app, a beer, a wine came to 35 bucks)
