so i spend most of today changing the exhaust gaskets and carefully going over everything. then took it for a test drive.. hehe. first time i experienced boost in my car. top end pulls 10x better than before. i'm also only boosting 4 psi... till i get a boost controller anyways. idle and off boost fuel pressure is a little high but i will deal with that in the future. running a little bit on the rich side on boost so thats good.. also have the timing retarded 2 degrees after 2400rpm no sign of detonation. car runs pretty good now.... hehe. special thanks to legend boy for making those steel gaskets for me. they seal very nice... and fuji for helping me fix shit on my car 3AM in the morning.

Can't wait to see it at a drift meet. I remember you mentioning it at a 403 meet a while ago but didn't think it would be done so soon. Good job.

hahaha. i was thinking the other way around. i hope i can keep up with some of you wrx guys.

yeah it was worth it. hehe. i ALMOST gave up on the turbo atleast 5 times but i'm glad i didn't. anyone doing a turbo project you just have to keep wrenching and wrenching till you get it right.... i'm still only boosting 4psi. nothing amazing. lol. its sure a great deal faster than what it was without the turbo.

mmm.... turbo

Be very careful with your transmission, a friend of mine has an all-motor 2.5RS (around 200HP) that absolutely destroyed it's tranny.. Maybe try to find a WRX one or something..

The WRX one isn't all that much stronger. But anyhoo, good work roland :D Gotta get that thing to a rallycross now and see what it can do ;)

Ya I thought WRX's tranni was good for around 280 tops. Then trouble starts. Looks like WRX's and DSM's have more in common than just turbo AWD's.

The tranny was the weak point on the RS too, it just took a lot more work to get gear exploding power out of it ;)

S trannies I've heard are the strongest out of S SR and SRV.
I think it has better gearing too.
