Racing seats

Looking for racing seats for my '91 5.0L Mustang (*civics suck* *cough*) sorry, anyone one got any ideas...?

Whats good, whats bad, from experiance. Or anyone selling some let me know. Just general racing seat talk i guess....

If you're looking for 'racing' seats, Recaro SPG's I've seen have gotten good reviews, just looking at them at a glance it appears they'd keep you in place if you ended up crashing. Same with Momo T2000's

If you're looking for those sport seats, Tenzo Type-R's I've always had a thing for .. Bride Brix II are also pretty comfortable, I find.

Look around some high-performance racing cars, like drift cars, and see what sort've seats they run.. Cars that have features done on them in magazines and such - Quite a few Japanese drift cars are using Bride seats, so I figure they've got to be safe...

Hope that helps.. You'll be looking at spending about a $1000 to $1500 ~ a seat new. US.

sparco is pretty good too, i have a pair of red torino in my car, they hold me well, the thing is, they arnt cheap.. i got mine for around 1800cdn after tax...

dont even think about bride if you think sparco is too expensive :)

sparco is awsome if your a smaller guy like me, all of my friends hate my sprint because of there fat ass's. sit in a few and decide what you want and what is confortable first, you may regret what you buy.

ive got sparco sprint, speeds are really good for the price imo, there cheap but hold you in really well, i dont recommend them for anyone over 200lbs though, and as for reclinables i love the torinos:drool:

the only avdvice I can give you is dont cheap out and buy something shitty like APC, you will regret it for the rest of your life, wait and get what you want

I've got some stock seats out of a '90 Honda CRX. Excellent side support, reclinable, and even comfortable. And they are even OEM... from 15 years ago!
But I can't defintly see why you don't want to stick with those park benches they call 'seats' that Ford puts in.

since u find seats to be a style mod only, i think u should get apc instead of something expensive. it looks the same even tho it doesnt provide much real functionality. then u can use the money uve saved on 7 spoke wheels or something..:thumbsup:
