ok, i got a 89 civic hatch and the guy said he swapped the motor for a 1.6L integra motor. i have been looking all over and the only engines i have seen in integras are 1.7 or 1.8l. is there a way to tell exactly what motor is in the car as it needs a clutch and i want to install a turbo, and other performance mods. i am new to civics as my last car was a 2000 sunfire gt- check it out.. http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/524134

Thanks, Ian

Open your hood
look at the very left of your valve cover
now look straight down from there and on your block there will be a letter followed by 2 numbers and an other letter and maybe some stuff after that

Get this code and post it and we can tell you what motor you have

Im guessing a d15b d16:thumbsup:

There is no SOHC Integra motor.

Maybe he dropped a SOHC ZC in there.

a guy on another forum knew the guy and knew the car...he said it's a DOHC ZC motor...is this good? also...what do i tell a dealer when i am looking for a clutch when he asks what kind of car or engine?

it uses a d16 (88-91 civic/crx) clutch, but you need to know what year tranny and what year flywheel you have. :)

how hard is it to do a turbo setup on a dohc zc? will a d16 kit work with it? also are there any good upgrades for the engine that are worth the money?

yes, a d16a6 kit will work for it, just need to port match the exhaust manifold
