pffft...don't do the SR...everyone does the SR as nice as it is...but...

contact JDM Source...and ask the price on the RB20...thats a nice swap that is still fairly rare here in Calgary...

SR swap is nice, and yea the RB would be nicer...but CA18det isnt bad either , and should be cheaper. depends on how much ur willing to spend and all that. i'd reccomend going to auto dream for the SR20det (redtop) swap, they could probly do it all for under $5000.

SR20's are the shizzle...

If you want an RB get an RB25. RB20's won't hold up as well as SR20's unless you build them up, besides you aren't gaining any displacement, just a couple extra holes and some weight.

I know its a ways away, but Force Fed in Vancouver was offering SR20 installed with microtech standalone tuned for $5k. It may be worth the trip if they are still offering that price.

SR swap is the way to go on a budget, if u go for an RB swap there's so many problems with heating issues and the engine mounts are a pain in the ass

Plus the fact that parts for the RB series are near impossible to find, If you go RB, have a second parts motor to go along with it.

As for SR install, PM me...

if you want to just install the engine and get it running, you would be looking at 1500 cdn for labour, and another 2-3k for engine. but as we all know, you need more than that after a swap, so basically 7g cdn is what i would be planing.

As for rb or sr, well if you are looking at rb20, there arnt engine mount issues and everything, that happens in a rb25 swap. parts are getting easier to get now that alot of importers are around vancouver area, so i wouldnt worry too much about parts if you live close.

sr vs rb, well sr is aluminum block, so less weight, rb is more weight since it is steal block based, but isnt to the point that it effcts the balance so its ok, and you get 250hp right off the engine so thats always a bonus.

with RB you would be looking at more money for swaps.. a rb25 front clip is selling for around 4-5k cdn.
