registration...license plate question

Hey, my g/f needs to register her new (used) car tomorrow. She has her old car with the plate on it still. But we need to maybe drive that somewhere to get rid of it or sell it.

If she doesnt grab her plate off that old car and gets a new plate for the newer car tomorrow...can we take back the first plate for a refund since it was just renewed in october?

Far as I know it's non-refundable. You can get a new plate for like 16 bucks, or just transfer it and register it on the new car

Yes you can get a pro-rated refund.
