I need someone to tell me what they think my Cavalier is worth. I am thinking of asking 9500-10000. Here's the stats:

-52,426 kilometres
-automatic
-4-door
-red with grey interior
-2nd owner
-never winter driven
-non-smoker
-excellent condition
-very well taken care of
-never been in an accident
-1997
-2.2 litre
-Always garaged or has a tarp on it when not used

Can i actually get this price? Or higher :D

It's a very reliable car, and is really good on gas. My insurance is really low on it too. I want to get rid of it to avoid a midlife crisis. I am young guy, I need something cooler!

Ya I know that's a little high. But it's all a part of my skill as a businessman :D. I really want to get about 8-9. I want to buy a car for about 10-11.

Well I know someone who bought a 91 probe for 4 grand, so if can find someone that naive, I will get like 13. "Dude it's a GL!". LOL

I need numbers, not clever remarks :P

a never winter driven Caviler ? never heard of that before.. I'd say the most you'd get it 7-8.. sorry dude Chev's don't hold any value what so ever..

Well if anyone knows anyone that would like to buy my car in about 3 months, PM me. I am will be asking 8,000.00 Firm...

Like I said it's been really well maintained personally by me. It's under a tarp right now, so I am not doing any T-drives. I'll post a pic closer to selling time. I am pretty sad to part with it, we have had some good times. But having an integra or a mustang, some how seems better :D .

I am going to post a new thread when I am officially selling my car.

A Caviler doesn't have the same resale value as Japanese or European cars, They are not very expensive new anyway..$9k-10k is way to high.....It's worth probably $5.5-6k but you might be able to pull of $7k...check the canadatrader and see what they sell for there...

$7000...thats the amount you pay me to take the burden of a Cavy off your hands...

brand new 2003's sell for $12'500 so 5 years old there isnt much chance of getting 8-9

Ya I've had second thoughts about the mustang. It would be nice to have a convertible but my insurance and gas would be huge! The NEW cavaliers are cheap for a reason. They have crappy VL engines with a 5 hp drop. The chassis have been known to snap, and I've just noticed the quality going way down.

The people who buy cavaliers obviously dont care about quality vehicles in the first place :O . I hope I get 7500 or 7000, then I only need 3500-4000 to get my nice car.

This makes me happy :D

I might be able to get lots of money because this car is a year older than mine, and has ~35,000 more kilometres than me:

http://www.canadatrader.com/trader/result/affich.asp?sid=74GZDZJ6157675&rubno=4000&pa=11&pr=3

I know dealers charge more, and the price will be haggled to about 8,500. I think I can actually get 8000 though!

This car is a little closer to my kilometres but it's a year newer:

http://www.canadatrader.com/trader/result/affich.asp?sid=74GZDZJ6157675&rubno=4000&pa=13&pr=4

They are asking 9900! :nut:

But this is more of a realistic price I should be asking...

http://www.canadatrader.com/trader/result/affich.asp?sid=74GZDZJ6157675&rubno=4000&pa=4&pr=1

I think I can get 7500 and if I am super lucky lucky 8000 :D

Your opinions were appreciated but the current market doesn't lie!

sell it at 8,000 obo. ask 8 they may pay that they may pay less its all luck.

you also have to remember a dealer ship will charge an extra 1-2 grand......you might be able to sell it forthat price but i doubt it......mines a 2002 and they estimate that in 3 years with 90,000km on it it will only be worht 6800.....im guessing if your lucky maybe 5500-6000....but if you get more good luck

three.eighteen.

yeah j-bodies depreciate faster than probably most cars on the market, youre looking at 5-7g

why do so many people buy these cars, first thing i ask when buying a new car is whats the depreciation value in 2-3 years..personally i would never buy anything american, unless its high end (corvette, cadi)

Brand new car with warranty......

The promotions that certain car manufacturers use are so alluring

How about the new Turbo Neon? I seriously wouldn't mind leasing that thing and driving the crap out of it!  :burnout:

I didn't buy it. It was given to me :(

I wish I was just given 17 grand back then, I could have bought something cooler.
