Prices... Umm I guess they're the same for any place that's really nice in Calgary... $18-$30 a plate depending on what you get.

I'd say its a good place for a special occation. Or if you wanna look like a baller (or if you are one to begin with).

I know they did have a dress code for the dining room which was business casual... But if you just go to the lounge, you can wear jeans.

Haha, Enns AMAT217 right? Ya man he is a baller. So many globe trotting stories. I think he mentioned something like a couple hundred for dinner for two.

Agreed, The Bear's Den looks really nice -- I think I will try it out with my gf after christmas.

Carver's is all about the cowmeat, not the ambience -- you want a kickass $50 porterhouse -- goto carvers. Every time I eat at Carvers the bill always hits $200 for two people.

I wonder if he phoned up his buddy Brad Pitt to take him for dinner there?

Anyways, I was really impressed with just the front entrance that I saw. Can somebody who's been there give me a definite price estimate? How much are plates, appetizers, etc.?

A lawyer I know went with four people I think it was and spent 750 dollars.

If you want to know prices, simply phone them and get them to fax you the menu.

Im too much of a finiky eater to be into "fine dining". Plus I hate all seafood.

So I guess it works out, that I dont waste 200+ dollars on a meal that I probly would not like that much, if at all. Sometimes Ill bust the bank on a steak. Biggest I ate was a 26oz porterhouse. Was not that impressed. So far my fav was at 18oz serlion at the newer sawmill in south edmonton.

I have heard its pretty good. I met the Head Chef while showing houses in the area one day. I keep meaning to check it out, but the orginally posted $18 - $30/plate sounds more than a little low. I would expect it to be more along the lines of $75 - $100/plate.

When the 4 of us go to Carver's, we usually don't escape with a bill of less than $500. But thats with a bottle or two of wine :D

$75-$100 seems too high ... wayy too high.
Fine dining in Calgary for entrees basically is around 25-45 (average around $30ish)
Even in Van the average fine dining places that I went to were around 40ish (average) for the meals.
I can't imagine the prices being that extreme.

No it just took forever to build and they had some money issues and the builder sold it off and what not... It was always intended to be a resturant.
