my computer's fuggin up. this applies to both my laptop and my desktop. whenever i go on the internet and i try to go to a site that i know is up i get one of 2 screens.

what's wrong?? this seems to have started happening when i set up a wireless network in my house.

Does this apply just to the computers with the wireless connection? If so, change the channel to one with better reception.

I've had this problem on shaw before, it's because their DNS servers are flaky sometimes (too many people using them maybe?). I've seen the whole shaw network "go down" because their DNS server crashed overnight, and IPs could not be resolved, even though the network was still operating properly.

I'd change your network settings to use another DNS server. Nucleus has a few good DNS servers :

207.34.94.250
207.34.93.22

Use those as DNS servers and the problem should go away (unless Nucleus blocks your requests hehe).

your computer is basically not internet ready, talk to your isp and they will walk you through want you need to setup.

No, not always. Some don't like to share or for security reason.

I found that pretty useful, I have used both Shaw and Telus, after all, if you really need to have it setup right, its hard to said what is wrong on the forum, check out shaw/telus , troubleshooting page
