A friend of mine is looking at one of these, does anyone here have any experience with them?

(I for one, never knew they existed -- I knew of the MazdaSpeed but only 250 of these MP3's were released)

From what I have read, they are a little lacking on power -- 150hp but more than make up for it in handling.

Any opinions would be appreciated, discuss.

Nice cars. Lacking in the power department but they handle amazingly. If you have the option take it for a test drive, you will be impressed.

Here's a Canadian review on the car but it's in Chinese. Anyway, there are specs and pics you can look at.

I agree with QuasarCav...we took one for a test drive at Kramer Mazda a few months back...they were clearing two of them for around $23-$24 thousand as they were previously used for promotions and had low km's on them.

It's speed is not too great, but it handles really well

Thanks guys -- does $18,000 with 64,000kms sound pricey for an '01?

Maybe a little on the high side.

Is this from a dealer or from a private sale? 15-17 sounds better.

Umm..what blue one are you talking about? The one we test drove was dark gray and about 6 months(?) back.

the dark gray(titanium) might be mazdaspeed protege. MP3 only comes in blue color. Mazdaspeed protege have 170hp, compares to MP3 which has 140hp. Mazdaspeed protege comes in orange, titanium and yellow. Orange color is the most rare color, only 250 made in canada
