well, i know this guy, hes sellin a 92 240 sx and its in good condition, for 1500. i realy want to buy this car, but the only thing is that it has 182k miles on it. so i thought for a while and wondered if buying an sr20det and the car is a good idea? i have the money. but is it worth the effort?

ps: the coolest thing ever are the s15 conversions. thought about one of these for a while. lol. thats big money

100% GREAT idea.
buying a 240 shell with a crummy motor and putting an SR in it is one of the cheapest ways to make an ultimate sleeper. SCC magazine did one and threw the S13 front end on it and all said and done it was dirt cheap for like 250hp RWD lightweight turbo (with 50/50 balance lol).

btw how much do you think it will cost to get the motor running (without help, just diy)?

1500usd works out to 2500cad which is ripoff for something that has 182k miles or 300k km. the guy should be selling u the car for 300usd...

Does the car run? Does it have any body damage, rust?

If its yes and no for those questions then thats not such a bad deal. You can drive it while you get money to get the SR.

i disagree about the rip off, its probly in good cond with good bosy and if he wants to do sr20 then he is set. this deal is far from a rip off

$2500 for a car with over 300,000km. uhh that is the definition of ripoff.

Yeah you've got the right idea, but he is asking way too much for the car.
