You need to be more specific. After driving a jimmy, ANY sports car will seem to handle amazing.

If you wanna go really fast in a straight line for real cheap, but still have decent handling (after a couple grand into suspension) a turbo dodge or mustang can't be beat, though one is front drive and the other is rear drive.
Do you wanna work on it yourself?
Do you wanna invest a lot of money or keep it relativly stock?
Do you want NA or FI?
Front drive or rear drive?

Also do you want raw speed, or something that is reliable!
You can get a Civic for that and make it look nice and go a little bit faster for a couple grand...
If you want speed ya turbo dodge or mustang! even a turboed probe are pretty quick for almost no cash!
If you have a limited amount of money stay away from rear wheel drive ( parts cost more ) you can even get a old supra turbo, or 300zx turbo...
those will all make your nuts suckinto your body compared to a jimmy...

My bet is 10 k is a LOT of money = lots of choices
when i was car hunting I had 3 k..
If you want speed for cheap, get something turbo charged... An exhaust will set you back 350 bux and gain 20 hp...

What you want is a 1998.5 Ford Countour Se Sports. Man are those cars fast, and stylish. so much bang for your buck it hurts.

You say you got 9-10K?
Funny, i even know of a coutour that i could get you for that price haha.

Dave

Dont get a ford

buy a probe gt for 4000 upgrade the turbo, get a boost controller, build up your internals a bit and bam, you got a fast ride that handles crazy, suspension control kicks ass.

Just to give you a quick picture... If you bought a Ford Probe GT now you could get a mint one for about 3500... If you bought forged pistons, boost controller, unprage turbo, exhaust, intake. I know people that hit 13.9 with just those mods... and that would come to 6000 INCLUDING car.. you have 4000 to buy some 18's, paint it and lower it.... You told me you like the look fo my car :nut:
So you could have one that looks like mine and runs 13's for 10 grand...
Thats if you can put up with the people making fun of you for driving a probe

Yeah, you're gonna have to be more specific with what you're trying to get. I'd suggest a GTI (generation before the current one)

turbo dodge or mustang is your best bet.

a mustang has further potential, and big aftermarket.

turbo dodge is cheaper to buy, a scrapyard will be your best friend (i read that there were over 1,000,000 turbo dodges built), and BOOST is quite addictive.
