Ok, I don't know shit about bikes, so can someone tell me the advantages of a vtwin vs an I4?

For instance, whats the pros/cons between the RC51 and the CBR?

I've got a question; Why is the 1000RR (and 600RR) an I4, when its based on the RC211V, which was a vtwin, Anyone know?

Actually the 211v is a V5.. The Rc51 twin used to be the world superbike racer.

Think of a V Twin as a domestic large displacement motor. The I4 is just an I4.

The Vtwin will feel more torquey, and won't likely rev as high.

Some Vtwins also suffer from power pulses, whereas the I4s are generally smooth.

They both have their merrits.

That is my take on it anyway.

i always liked to think of the I4's as screamers...whereas the vtwins were groaners and moaners. depends on what you like better ;)
