Is this a private sale? Considering any trades? Looks like a Manitoba vehicle...has it since been registered in Alberta?

Just to give you an FYI.. There is no such thing as a 2000, Blue Sir, in 2000 they only Came in Black, Red, And Silver.. so your friend's Car is actually made in 99.. [ assuming it's not a car from the States ]..

Trust me if they made a blue sir in 2000, I would of been the first one to buy one.. I can show you my 2000 honda civic Catalog if you want to see it..

Easy way to solve this issue, have your friend look at the Door Jam and see what the date of Manufacture is.. it's it's 2000, i'll give you 20 bucks, cuz i know it's not.

It will most likely say something-99, that is just the date the vehicle was finished in the factory. The model and year are in the vin. We have 05 cars and its still 04? When you register a car you dont register it by the manufacture date, you register it by the vin.

Thats not cool, shit like that should be disclosed.

So it's a US car that was in a front end wreck and got rebuilt?

the 2000 Si (US Model same as our SiR) doesn't have ABS nor heated mirrors. I have one of each, and realized after I bought the one from the US... about the ABS option.

According to that vehicle search it was. It's common to see written off cars coming up from the states.Even after purchase, shipping, fees, taxes and all paper work that you have to go through, its still can come out to a smoking deal.

YOU are wrong. There are no 2000 Electron Blue Civic SiR for Canada. You might as well pay up as well. It would have been easier of the seller in posting that the car is from US with a Junk and Salvage Title that has been recertified.

Just a sidenote:

It is illegal to sell a vehicle without disclosing any 'repaired' or 'salvage' information to the buyer.

Sorry ryder_23 you didnt read carefully, silvercivicsir said "assuming its not a car from the states" so for initiald to win this bet the car has to be originally from canada and the year has to be 2000. It's all or none, no half right.

yeah i know, i just misread what he said, lol. Oh well. I now know that 2000 in canada didnt come in blue :D. Just looked like it was just a canadian car, and that vin said it was a 2000, i just thought it was. Meh, i guess you do learn something new everyday :D

I almost bought a RED 2000 SI (US) Just like this one!! had only 28000kms guy was only asking 15500 like a year ago---too good to be true Almost bought it---did a VIN search low and behold it had 6 Salvage records on it across 7 Different States I was livid.

From there on I never bought a used Vehicle without a history check--could save you thousands in the long run.

The funny thing is the guy pretended he had no clue---mean while is story changed like 3 times.

18500 for a salvage Si/SIR is a terrible Deal.
