If tomorrow or Monday night is clear, you might want to keep your eyes towards the eastern part of the sky to watch the Geminid's meteor shower. You might start seeing it pretty low to the horizon once it gets dark, and it'll start getting higher as the night progresses.

Also, for the next month you should be able to see Comet Machholz in the southern part of the sky (pretty low to the horizon). Apparently it's not that hard to see right now, but for the next month it will get brighter until January some time. It should appear as a bright dot in the sky with your eyes, but if you have a good pair of binoculars or a telescope, you should be able to make out the shape better. :)

Someone managed to snag a good shot of the comet. You can just barely see the tail. It'll become more apparent over the month.

Its probably best to go a little ways outside Calgary for a better view though, I usually go a little ways past the old Drive in theatre. Its a lot clearer then the city (due to light pollution and all).
