hi, i got a 90 integra

n i was just driving it...and when it went over 3000 rpm...my ligts got really birght and my left headlight bunred out.

soo i parked my car, and rav'ed it a few times and ever time i rav'ed over 3000 my lights went bright then to normal.
wahts is the problem?
i just got a new alertnator
sooo i dunnno

any help would be great
