What are some tips or things I could do for preventing my car from rusting besides not driving on salted roads?

This includes all year round, not just winter
and are there any good products i good buy?

keep it clean and wash it semi-frequently in the winter to get the crap off your car

what about Krown Rustproofing, whole car is around $125

or vasoline on rust area, to prevent more rust

also take out your plastic fender wells and wash in there very good

I know the shop at Racetrack Gas just off 32ave does it, there are probably others. You are supposed to get it done every year, if your car is new and you get it done every year they give you a lifetime warrenty.

so how does rustproofing exactly work? what do they to to prevent it from happening/spreading? i want to get it on my car even tho it's already 7 years old.

Anybody know anything about those electric rustproofing modules? Something to do with ions and charges i dunno i'll try to find an example of one.

JUST GOT MY CAR RUST PROOFED WITH KROWN, AWESOME SERVICE, IN AND OUT IN 45 MINUTES......I LIKE THAT IT DRIPS ALSO, HAD CRAPPY TIRE DO IT ONCE, $HIT JOB, SHOULD HAVE GIVEN U GUYS THE MONEY AND JUST BELIEVED YOU DID THE WORK.

DAMN, JUST REALIZED I'M YELLING AT YOU, MY bad

not sure if your town has a local website, we have www.whatsokingston blah blah blah, anyways, krown had a certificate on there for a free can of rust protection......oh, i paid 126 tax included.... a car is 110 plus tax.......it's all listed on the site i gave

oh, my beater is 13 yrs old, it's rusted, but rust proofing for 2 years has prevented VISIBLE rust, stopped what was visible.......my sunfire, another beater to some, is 10 years old, just had it done today, but plan on it anually until it dies.......so maybe a month.......BEAT U TO THE JOKE!!!

they have a 79 wagon here that's spotless.......krown car
