so a currupt UN neck deep in it's oil for food scandal, which paralyzed it from action for 1o years, is pointing fingures.

Funny, 10 to 1 if it was the other way around you would be on the exact opposite side.

Not denying that the USA has failed to control things, but it seems the standard people expect them to reach is unattainably high just so people can say, 'I told you so'.

Also will this go the way of the explosive stockpile story a few months ago which turned out to be completely mis-reported and wrong?

muahahahhahaaha
The US was not innocent of the oil for food BS and hold ups ;) In fact, they were in the thick of things.

Fact of the matter is, the sanctions were pretty well US imposed to begin with. The US with pressure, bribes, and plain bully tactics rammed it through the UN.

Part of the reason why the US IS RESPONSIBLE for over 1 million civilian deaths since they were instated (mainly kids). Bush Jr., Sr. and Clinton deserve the death penalty for mass murder.

But I find stealing 20 billion of Iraq's oil money actually funny. Funnier that they got caught :poosie:

I fully agree that some corporations in Merricka are guilty of the oil for food scandel and need to be punished, but that is far different than the fact that actual UN represenatives were bribed under the program, including some country officials. Really clouds the fact that the UN made multiple resolutions about Iraq, only to back down from them.

Speaking of which you say the USA maipulated the UN to 'ram' through the sanctions. So the USA controls the UN, yet they couldn't get them to sanction the war in Iraq? Which is it, is the UN an Merrickan puppit or isn't it?

Who's responsible for the deaths in Iraq? The admistration headed by Saddam because he starved his own people. He is responsible and now will face his own people on trial. It's just sad that the UN was paralyzed to actually back up it's threats of force all through the 90's because as it turns out it was more concerned in making money than actaully backing it's mandate.
