I think it might be a neat idea ... since it's already in the political section ... and let the 2 guys moderate it maybe :dunno:

Yeah I realized that but then I suppose it's up to the coppers to moderate and remove any posts/threads that are retarded and useless. Just an idea anyways

of course it'll be with their consent  what did you think it was gonna be like? just slap the freakin badge on them?

I think its a great idea...however there will have to be strict rules, or it will end up with same questions non stop, or really stupid questions..

ie:
If i stab someone, do i goto jail?
or, i got a speeding ticket (just a general one) what do i do

Like if its opened up, have a general sticky on ticket, and ticket fighting, and anything specialised they can ask.

I think it should be done, just heavily watched with new threads every 10minutes about a ticket that has been answered 100times...sure if theres a circumstance about it that is special ask away...but general ones should be stickied in a thread...like where to go, who to talk to, how to talk to the crown, if theres an error on my ticket is it void, how to get councelling, etc...

edit: wrote really fast, if it doesnt make sense, i can clarify

I would just like to debate on the merits of their tax collection strategies... No Cop likes to talk about that though, only public safety ;) issues..

Theres not alot of canadian police on this site, but it helps with anything you pretty much need to know

http://forums.realpolice.net/

i've been a member on there for a while. I'll try and track down an rcmp on the site, and see if he might be able to come over and answer questions from a Police POV, if we do get this forum.

In agreement with you. Police officers are people with authority therefore they should be called their respectful names. I'm in Justice Studies so you kind of learn this stuff as you go...

Otherwise great idea. I know there are so many of us on here that are constantly asking what is and what is not illegal....goodluck! I think its a great idea

My basketball coach is a retired school resource officer...he hassles me when I called police officers "cops"

A section like this would be beneficial but until one of the dozen police officers on this site decides they would like to spearhead a section like that we won't be adding it. I want the section to be voluntarily run and do not want to pressure any police officers into running a section like that.

The beyond admin team would probably need to sit down and have some discussions on how the section would have to be run as well.

i agree, i guess its kind of useless, unless we have someone with the proper knowledge to answer the questions to the full extent of the law. It would defintly be a hard forum to moderate, because as it always seems, there will be alot of repetitive posts, possible immature kids making up fake stories and just wasting the officers time. It wouldnt look good if someone askd a "serious" question, got a serious response, and started laughing and saying i was just kidding, etc... The police officer or what not, would be offended, and most likly would no longer waste his time helping people.

There are actually several police officers that have identified themselves on the forum, but have opted to remain anonymous. They are around...you may have even bought and sold something from a few of them ;)
