would it be worth it to get a say '93 300zx with $150k+ miles for like $1200... and spend the $4000 for a new VD30 engine...?

anyone have experience with putting new engines in older chassis'... like will it not be worth it cause i'll have problems left and right?

Mileage isn't a form of currency :D
With that being said, I think thats totally a good deal. Where can you find a '93 300zx for that cheap? If you don't do it I will

The deal sounds good, I'd just make sure that the title is free and clearof liens and encumbrances, and the the car is not salvage status. You can check this at the registry for a nominal fee.

Also, check the underbody, all structural members, and the body structure under the hood for rust. It could be a very cool car when complete, but if you have to start battling rust before you even get started it may not be worth it. You want to have a solid platform to build from and not sink funds into something that's slowly falling apart.
