roads ARE still super shitty,
I bought 2 DVD burners and a 12 pack of DVD-RW's

GucciBoy
12-26-2004, 06:50 PM
how much did you get the burner for? pretty nice

How exactly does it work burning a dvd. When burning a movie, does the movie run and play just like an original? Cause i heard things about it not capturing stuff like menu navigation etc, it'll get the movie but thats it.

I went to visions at 7am, braved the cold temp, and crappy roads, and voila, bought a 52" HDTV LCD TV and a kenwood theatre system for it. I saved prolly about $3000 today!:D

contemplated on buying a plasma flat screen for the same price (but only 42".. because it's nicer and the color looks nice) but it's kinda grainy, and the sales guy said images could burn onto it easily... and it doesnt last as long as an LCD's bulb would last.

Cost me $699, regularly priced at $899. It's only $200 off but it's cheaper than I've seen it all year, and I needed to replace my 11-year-old VCR.

Some much needed pants: 2 pairs of jeans and a pair of cords and one dress shirt

A CD for me, one for rollie and boy meets world season 2 :D

I'm gonna head back tomorrow, we were kinda strapped for time and only shopped until 11 cause we were heading out of town...first thing in the morning the mall was so dead cause of the roads, it was nice to avoid a few line ups...rollie cleaned up at mexx for that reason! :)

If you guys think boxing day is crazy here you should see it in the States. I didnt think it would be that bad in LA while here on vacation because their main shopping day is on thanksgiving, but it was crazy. Imagine going to a downtown LA Diesel store thats 3 stories and packed with people fighting over jeans at 50% off. :guns:

On-line right at 12:00am, snatch them up and no freezing cold weather. Although I havn't got them delivered yet. I tested the ASB2 on site and liked them. For $150/pair on boxing day finally drove me to buy them.

HK receiver I bought from Vision's which is about $70 less than FS. It's AVR235.

Yes, this HK receiver ROCKS.

yes, jdmakkord honored the web price, no questions asked. I spoke to 2 other salesman before him that didn't want to honor the web price. They made up some BS about the web store being a separate entity from the futureshop stores.

It was $248 at visions but they only had about 5 for sale. I stood in line at 7am for nothing.

play an untuned "white noise" AM Station on a moderate volume for a couple of hours...that should provide a sufficient break-in period...

Yes, you're suppose to take it easy the first 50-100hrs of it's life. Don't blast away yet.

BTW, the Athenas just arrived and they are vey crisp. High frequency sounds good and Center channels is very clear. But lacks in low end and truely awesome music. Great for movie when combined with a good sub.

But boy, now I lust after a pair of Totem's after I did a demo @ A&B. Awesome for music.
