Looks like a cross between a Murano (behind the C pillar), a Cayenne (Headlights), and an alfa (grill). :barf:

At the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Subaru will officially take the wraps off the luxury crossover sport/ute it has been teasing for the past few months (AW, Nov. 15). Thanks to AutoWeek reader Mike Andrzejewski of California who recently came across a video shoot of the new vehicle in Long Beach, we get to share the 2006 Subaru B9X a little earlier than Subaru may have expected.

B9X, a seven-seat crossover powered by a 3.0-liter H6 engine linked to Subaru's symmetrical all-wheel-drive system, arrives this summer in the U.S. B9X will be followed in 2006 by the Saab version, tentatively dubbed 9-6X, which makes its world debut next spring at the New York auto show. Both vehicles will be built at Subaru's plant in Indiana.

The designers should run themselves over in those vehicles.

I wonder how it is that a car company can change the Grill of thier car so drasticly especially since in part it is what they use to sell thier cars and distinguish thier name

take BMW and Merceded for example they have used the same grill with many variations since they have been in the buisness

Audi just made a drastic change, and VW is following suit. In person, the Audi grill looks ok.

But you are right. Jeep, Hummer, Mercury, and even Pontiac all have the same style grill to identify their brand.

Shit, all i gotta say is that. I hate this as much as I hated the Aztek. But i did see some Aztek's on the street and i am sure some people will be dumb enough to buy these as well.

Shit, that SUV has an identity crisis. I don't know about you guys, but I see a mix of Sienna, Cayenne, Alfa in the first quarter pic. Then X5 tailights, with Toureg height in the 2nd pic. Lastly, Murano/RX330 side profile complete with Murano rims.

Yeah, the new Subaru designer is the guy who came from Alfa - Andreas Zapatinas. Is the guy just trying to resell Alfa designs by merely turning the grille upside-down? And shouldn't Subaru bigwigs be smart enough to reject such a grille design?

I see a parallel here: Bangle designed the Fiat Coupe (good looking car, IMO) and was then hired by BMW.
Zapatinas did a bunch of good looking Alfas - 156, 147, etc, and was then hired by Subaru.

Now both guys are turning out the ugliest-looking cars possible, single-handedly ruining the appetites of would-be buyers or brand loyalists, and wrecking strong brand reputation.

Yeah, the tails on the SRT-4/SX2.0 look really ugly. Why not use the Euro-spec model's tails with proper amber blinkers and rear foglights?

I really hate the one-red-light-does-it-all arrangement on A LOT of cars. How much more would it cost to run another wire and have an extra bulb so that you can have dedicated turn signals, IN THE PROPER COLOUR, I might add?! Ford is especially bad for this. The Focus Sedan, Econoline van were launched with separate brake and signals, which were replaced with a single bulb arrangement after a couple model years. :banghead:

That inverted Alfa grill isn't working out like it should. Time to drop that before it make them go bankrupt. Different is not always good.
