What would you prefer when modding your engine?
Would you rather go All motor or Forced Induction, ie Turbo, SC?

Personally I prefer ALL MOTOR, but nothing makes sick HP numbers like FI cars. The only thing is I always find it much much harder to get those BIG HP #'s to the ground.....

What do you mean you find it "harder to get to the ground"?

more money for less numerical HP...it costs huge to get an E36 M3 to about 300-350 whp on n/a setup, but if you go s/c or t/c boost can get you 400+ hp for probably a roughly equal amount of money...but nothing beats a nice all motor powerband...

Turbo with Anti-lag [:)]

If I could have the same HP numbers out of both I would prefer all motor! But we all know which one creates good numbers... So if you got the money to mod defienitly go F/I !

I don't care what it is as long as its got a nice, fat, driveable powerband. Peaky motors suck :thumbsdow

When I drive a turbo vehicle, it feels like 'fake' power. Probably just because of the lag. I still like it a lot, it is just different.

IT is harder to get to the ground. Basically you can make 500+ HP but transfering that power to the wheels is very difficult... I know of many Supra's, even Turbo ITR's that are getting no traction through their first 3 gears because the engine is creating such large amount of HP.
Do you understand what I am trying to point out now??

Yup. But I don't see how it is any easier getting traction from a 500hp n/a car.

A turbo engine putting out 500 hp will have more torque than a n/a 500 hp engine. Torque is the grunt that gets you going, so you'll have more wheel spin with a turbo engine when compared with a n/a engine of equal hp rating.

I always assumed a N/A would have more torque ..Hmmm

guys, im all for the all moter V8! I know no one else is but thats how you get real NA power, and enough tourque to give you traction problems.

If I had unlimited money, I would go N/A.
But FI sounds so damn nice!! haha.

I'm all about the NA but like others said on this board....FI is what produces the numbers!! After I do my swap I would love to build my B16A up to crazy specs but that'll just take too much time and money I don't got while turboing will give me sweet ass power as well.

Can't go wrong with a B16A2 equipped DX hatch that's turbo'd!

FI... for my little engine that could... :D

Its called not buying an ass suspension set up and running better than motormaster tires.

umm dude, importadrenelin owns his own import tuning company...im pretty sure he doesnt have ass suspension or motomaster tires

FI offers better street ability and huge numbers, but nothing is more impressive then saying you have 500+hp ALL MOTOR.

nitrogen dioxide??

i thought nitrous is N20 - dinitrogen oxide. two part nitrogen and one part oxygen.

i'd go forced induction. supercharger or turbo..... NA is nice but cost a lot more money in the end.....

its n20...but its not called dinitrogen oxide its just called nitrous oxide. At least i think so...I don't remember ever saying dinitrogen in chem class!!

How could you not want FI...if you want to talk about lag then lets talk about NA cars, vtec, vvti, ztec all dont kick in until fairly far up the rpm range which makes the car feel like a dog unless you rev the crap out of it. Now if were talking NA large diplacement engines then thats another story.

Gotta love the wistle a couple of turbos gives you when they spool up.

Why is it an either or question??? I say do both! :D

If you're going all motor though, you better have the displacement to work with. I wouldn't go all motor with anything less than 3.0L

Just imagine ... a 500hp motor .. all motor, with twin turbos strapped on! :hitit:
