What're your thoughts on the most recent style of the VW Beetle?

Girlie car. About 3/4 of the New Beetle drivers I see are female.

Drive one and see if it suits you. I sat in one at a car show and it would take some getting used to, but it feels nothing like the old Beetles from the 60's & 70's. The dash is huge and the instrument lighting is blue, just like the Golf on which it is based. It only seats 4 where a Golf can hold 5. Dunno about reliability, recalls, etc.

I personally don't like the looks of the element. reminds me of an aztec.
i dunno why. Im not talking about exterior styling but, maybe what it is made for i guess.

Maybe if you go with the turbo S. otherwise id stick to a GTi. Or even golf. Jetta 1.8t is cool too. ;)

If you get the beetle, you have to alter that stupid flower-holder to something more manly like...i dunno...a gun holster? haha

I wouldn't buy one. But they are fun to drive. My room mate has one (yes, female) it is a pretty fun little car to drive, and it sounds fairly nice w/the exhaust she has on it.

Seems like a clear case of "form over function" to me. Like the PT Cruiser. The hotter variants of the Beetle are extremely overpriced for sure.

I've always liked them. My plan is to wait till I graduate uni in 2004 and by then the 1.8T convertible beetle will have hit the market. I too will disable the stupid flower holder and make it something different but its a very fun car.

The Poll Question was "Is the Beetle a good buy for the price" not "Do You Like It" hahaha

If you look at the standard options and what it has, its a smokin deal, but it doesn't appeal to many cosmetic wise...

Maybe In Eeurope, over heaer its hard to find more standard features for less.

the element isnt your ordinary car. it was designed by a group of 25 year olds...it lacks a b pillar, has 64 different seating configs (or something crazy like that), the interior is completely washable (basically u can take a garden hose to it), and the car is aimed at an outdoors, athletic type 25 year old male....

my only complaint about this car is that it can use more than the k24...

my sister has a 2001 Beetle. she loves it and its a great little car. in 2.0 form its got some spunk, but gives up pretty quickly, not meant for having much fun. if you get the 1.8t beetle though, you're going to have some fun!
