The beef jerky from longview is the best quality and freshest stuff you will find anywhere, and prices are really good too.

i bought a big bag on my way to BC the other day, and i am sold on it now.

I would recommend trying it.

Longview (aka beef jerky capital of Alberta) is about 45 mins south of the city on Hwy 22, go west on 22x untill the turn-off to 22, then south past black diamond and turner valley.

For a significantly shorter drive, try the beef jerky from the Airdrie Butcher shop. Im hooked on it, its cheap, a few different kinds of flavours, and its soooo good... Damn I want some now

I dont like Longview beef jerky. It is packaged in oil or something that makes it kind of slimy.

I prefer beef jerky that is packaged loose, dry and a variety of different shapes and sizes.

make your own using a food dehydrater. Nothing compares! Marinade it in whatever you want - soy sauce, garlic, etc.... mmmm

I agree  when I lived in Airdrie I used to eat this stuff ALL the time. Kindof inconvenient to drive all the way out there now though, even if it is shorter..:D

Not a bad idea. I used a dehydrater for quite a while, but it's just too much work, and takes too long for the little bit of money I save.
