how many km's should i be expecting to run with a full tank?
i bought my civic not too long ago and i'm only running like 350 a tank? i find that pretty low for a civic so i know something's wrong. it might just be the way i drive :dunno:

*edit*=completely stock civic and regular city driving

it depends where u drive in mostly and the mods done to ur engine

if highway driven without that much traffic i'd say it should go 430 kms
other wise 380 sounds pretty good

How many Liters is your Tank?
How many liters does it take you to travel 100 Kms in the city?

PS. I was getting ~400 kms in the city when I owned a 96 Neon.

I have a 96 Si and am getting close to 600km on a tank (mainly highway driving and never really gunning it). I'm pretty sure all Civics have a 45L gas tank..but 350 seems super low IMO...maybe 425-50, but not that low...

Maybe check the fuel injectors?? :dunno: :dunno:

My DX, if driven very conservatively from absolutely full to pretty much bone dry in the summer can do 700km to a tank driving pure highway. I'm finding I do about 500km's in the winter but I don't let it run down as much as in the summer. If i'm driving it in the city I find I get about 600-650km's. I'm loving every second of it being as I used to drive a Cadillac that would get 350km's to a $45 tank :thumbsdow . I'll ask a couple pals with SI's what they get because I think you should be getting around 450-500.

my old Vx (92) in its lrime would get about 700kms on a 30L tank but when it was an ass and drove it like it was hot i would only see about 300kms, big differnec, i would say that if you are light on the gas and shifting a 3k rpms if manual then you have some sort of Fuel problem more than likely a bad 02 sensor, or cloged cat, possibly even bad MAF? not sure if curent year Civcs still run Ecu Maps?

You should get approximately 440/tank.

Civics should do 10L/100km. Therefore, on a 44L tank, it should do 440-450.

Anything less on a stock car should be looked at. My bet is that it's the o2. When my integra o2 crapped out on me, I was doing 400km/tank highway driving!

I have a 1996 Si, and during normal fairly conservative driving i get usually between 500-550km a tank. I shift at 4000k and don't hit VTEC that often. During the summer when I do some highway driving I get above 600km a tank. 350km/tank is BRUTAL unless your hitting VTEC every shift or something :nut:

Is it just me or does a cars fuel economy detoriate with the weather?

hahaha i get like 400 km to a 110 litre tank in my 360 dodge. hearing that kind of gas mileage makes me want to get a 4 banger.

Thats horrible
Like said above Civics have 45L tanks.. The most I have even put into my tank when filling it was about 41L.. so I have room for more mileage but driving with the gas light on is sketchy ;)

but don't you love just gunning it in 4WD when its -20 and you cover the entire rice rocket behind you in a cloud of exhaust and you're ahead by about 30 car lengths within seconds???

Im finding my 96 Si is not getting good mileage either. I only have an Injen Intake. Other than that its stock. I am only getting 350-380 per tank as well. Starting to piss me off!!

It's winter. Idling for long periods of time and the increased compensation that the ECU has to make to keep temperatures reasonable for the first few minutes of startup do take a toll.

nope, i never hit vtech and normally the max i'll let it rev up to is like 4500rpm. just planning on changing the spark plugs and wires for now and taking a look at the fuel injectors and o2 sensors

when the gas light appears..about how much litres are left in the tank?

Everyone just starts their cars and lets it run for a long time.

Why am I getting better gas mileage than civics?

B18 with a 50L tank gets me 500-550. Shifting at under 4K.

Wow not shabby! I get about 360-440 km average per tank city driving. But I did hit 650 a tank only once when I was driving in BC

Wow, I need to trade the WRX in for a civic -- I am lucky if I get 350kms on a tank with city driving.

In the summer I get about 500+. I could go a little higher, but I don't really want to push it. Plus, I'm already paying for gas, so why should I pay a little more?

I get about 10L/100km in my turbo'd integra. So about 350 km per 35 L every time I fill up (94 octane). When I was stock I would get about 550 km per 40 liters (87 octane) so if you guys in stock civics are getting such poor mileage I suspect you would need somewhat of a tuneup.

Edit: per tank means nothing. fill up reset counter, drive, fill up again see how many km you drove and how many liters you put in

I get about 450 a tank with 92 but for some reason I get worse mileage with 94. Must be because I tuned the car with 92.

hm, I had mine tuned with 94 octane, I wonder what would happen if I used 92 octane, once in a while (lot better availability) Would it start detonating?

it all depends on the AF. But if your tune was right on the hairline for power and 94, and you drop to 92 you will detonation

1. You have a larger tank
2. I get the same or better than that :D

Last time I filled up my ITR I got 462 km with 38 L.
Combination of highway and city driving in winter.

Have a 96 EX sedan and only mod is intake.

My lead foot gives me about 330km with 30L (9L/100km)in summer, slightly less than 300 in winter.

But my sister who owns it now can squeeze almost 400km with 31-32L (~8L/100km)

But you're right, Civic doesn't really live up to the gas saver name. For comparsion, I also drive a 1.8L Corolla like a bat out of hell from time to time and it still only does 8L/100km on average.

And my 3.5L Altima is only averaging 10.5L/100km in summer. An engine more than twice the displacment/HP/Torque of Civic and only use about 16% more fuel.

Also remember, for Si when VTEC kicks in, it burns even MORE fuel.
