What's it called when say for example you are driving in 2nd gear and then clutch it, stick it to neutral, let go of the clutch rev like mad, then clutch it then stick it into 4th gear. I heard that this works fine with TT engines. The thing i'm wondering is that won't it ruin the engine in anyway? And is this good for racing to get a 'kick' in speed?

Why would any idiot in a race shift from 2nd to 4th?

It's called burning out your clutch.

I think you are talking about keeping the revs high in a Turbo engine so you dont loose boost between shifts. I'm not going to touch that one, dont know enough about turbo engines.

maybe to spool the turbo's which would really be unnecessary in 2nd -4th....

 hahaha good one.

indeed sounds like a dumb idea, might as well just do a WOT shift if you dont wanna lose boost.

no it aint double clutching...

maybe this guy just got it backwards.

as in downshifting from 4th to 2nd in order to boost?

although 2 gears down is kinda brutal imo.

:dunno:

edit: haha i just re read the post, i can't make sense of it. meh
