Up for sale is a CyberSURFR cable modem used for about 2 years. I have the power connector and I can throw in a coax cable if you need it. If you currently pay 42.95 a month for shaw high speed, you can save 5 bucks a month by owning one of these.

and just FYI if anyone wants to buy this one from him if you want extreme you can take this modem and the power cable to shaw and they will trade you straight across for a docsis modem for the extreme.

If I already have a modem can I hook this one up somewhere different and not pay any extra?

Buy a router, connect the shaw internet to the router, and you can have as many computers hooked up to a single line as you have outputs in your router. Mine has 4, and we usually have three computers wired on one connection.

Then get a switch in your room, I just moved my switch to my room now I got 4 computers going right now and room for 5 more :), you can get liek 4 port switches and stuff or if you got the time, hookup your PC in your room with 2 NICs and plug the PS2 into one...

For the Shaw question, if you want 2 different IP's, you get 2 free Ips from shaw, the next ones are $9.95 or something. If you have a modem downstairs, buying this one and plugging it in will not work, the serials on the modem are sent into Shaws servers and thats how they hand out IP's etc... you woul dhave to get a shaw tech to come out and switch the modems for you.
