There was an allocation/shipment error with WoW. This resulted in extremely shorted WoW distribution.

CompuSmart should be getting some early next week. Place your holds to ensure your copy as numbers being received are uncertain.

PS - most of the people I used to play Unreal Tournament with are now playing this game, and they were all die hard fans (some of them for 5 years running). The game is that good. I don't play it though cuz I hate games with monthly fees.

The game actually has little to do with warcraft, if you're a fan of warcraft but do not like questing or first person shooters, then this will not likely be your cup of tea.

I was told that they were holding WoW shipments until the server upgrades were done because they can barely handle the current population. Once they are upgraded (there was a big one yesterday no?), they will release more copies.

The server load has nothing to do with the problem.
There was a production issue, we were all E-mailed it from our account managers. I will try to find the E-mail in my box and put it up here for everyone to read.

The servers are very populated right now, but a lot of them are running quite under load.

And to the guy who posted the Penny Arcade comic, I WAS GOING TO POST THAT! LOL

I find the game quite entertaining. I was a big City of Heroes fan, and I can see WoW going the same way. I like the MMORPG's because I get right into the feel of the game and the actual role play, whereas games like Half Life dont do it for me.

Blizzard is holding shipments and some rumors they even requested pulling copies off the shelves until they can stabilize their servers (login server included). There is lag spikes every now and then, and I think most servers have usually unaccessible for 1-2 hours (and sometimes more) every two days due to server issues. It is becoming more stable but nowhere close to as stable as it should be (especially the login server).
